THE PLOT:
Years after the encounter with the strange alien life form nearly wiped out all but one member of a salvage crew. The lone
survivor is found, Ripley and the cat are awaken to face a inquiry of the events leading to the destruction of the ship.
She also learned that they have terraformed and placed a colony of humans while she was sleeping, a colony they have since
lost contact with (big surprise). Together with a Platoon of Space Marines Ripley is going to put a full metal jacket up
some alien's meatball hill before it's Apocalypse now for the colony.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
The second movie has a lot more punch and excitement then the first. While the first was creepy space atmosphere waiting for
something to jump out and eat you, this was all out ass kicking fun. Not the first movie wasn't good, I love all the alien
movies, some more then others and for various reasons. But if I had to pick a favorite and say this is the best of the series,
I would have to say this movie. James Cameron starts in full speed and don't stop until a great explosive climax that is worthy
of me. The story is great, now for the bad news. Some of the human characters did get a little annoying at times, just a little,
mind you. But that's a small thing. 9 STARS
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd on this. That's why I bought the entire Alien collection is a somewhat expensive box set. Now, if you
didn't like the first movie or are freaked out by strange alien creatures. Then this isn't the movie for you 9 STARS as well.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (As cool as the first movie.)
+ QUEEN ALIEN (I love the design of the Queen.)
+ LIFTER ROBO (I love the lifting robot.)
+ STORY (The story works well.)
+ ACTION (Rarely slows down to rest.)
+ ACTING (The acting was perfect.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- CHARACTER ISSUES (There were certain characters that did get annoying.)
