Cannabastic Humanoid Underground Dweller or Code-Name C.H.U.D. to the army the best guarded secret there was. until the night
the C.H.U.D.s escaped. Mutating to unspeakable creatures the C.H.U.D.s run amuck in New York.
George Cooper a nosy reporter is trying to make like Burnstein and break the story before the story breaks him.
Compared to Bud The Chud, it's freakin' Oscar material. You heard me, the first movie is kind of weak in story and is kind
of predictable. But the second movie is pure video garbage. But to this movie, the list of cameos in this movie of future
stars is staggering, John Goodman, Jay Thomas, Patrica Richardson. The list goes on. Who knew so many presents stars started
out in such a nobody monster movie. The creature effects are very cool and the story works. So for the most part I can recommended
the movie for a rainy day, eating popcorn. All the jumps are where you expect them, but there is some good humor and dialog
in this too. So if you want to have a good old fashion fright fest, you can do worst then C.H.U.D. in you DVD player and I
mean that. You can do worst. I give it 7 STARS.
I have to disagree with Zedd on this one, I enjoyed it much more then he did. Sure it's predictable and all the jumps are
in just the right place. But that what makes this kind of movie fun. You heard me fun, the creature effects were amazing
for the budget and the time peroid it was made and I too am surpirsed by the number of future stars in this one little monster
movie. 9 STARS, you heard me right 9 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The CHUD design are cool.)
+ STORY (Secret monsters escaping into the sewer works.)
+ CAST (Including a long list of famous cameos.)
+ ACTING (The acting is impressive.)
+ HUMOR (The humor is very funny.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- PREDICTABLE (It's kind of predicable and all the jumps are where you expect them to be.)
- CLIMAX (Without giving it away, Zedd was kind of disappointed with the climax of the film.)
- FAN BASED (If you don't like monster in the sewer style movies, then this isn't for you.)
