THE PLOT:

A mysterious scarred figure is out to start WWI years before it's supposed to happen. Allan Quatermain is talked out of retirement to lead a team of literature's greatest heroes and villians.

Captain Nemo offers his new and improved Submarine, the Invisible Man is also enlisted to help, Doctor Jekyl and Mister Hyde is the muscle, Mina Harker, the female vampire and Dorian Grey. But they get a member they didn't expect, Tom Sawyer all grown up.

But as the move to stop the mysterious Phantom, they suspect a traitor in their mist and this might be bigger then any of them suspected.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

I enjoyed this comic book adaptation, grant you I never read the comic book and I can say I don't know anything about the charaters past or if film makers made any changes to the story but I can I liked it. The effects were assume, the cast did a great job. No matter what critics say. The story works and I love the blend of literature characters that litter the film. Just one thing, one tiny mistake. Mina Harker was saved when Dracula was kicked. She never fully transformed, if they wanted a female vampire, it should have been Lucy. They just staked her and every one knows if you remove the stake the vampire comes back. So Lucy vampire Mina saved. That's the only major goof in this movie. I give it...9 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

Some critics don't understand, if it's a serious comic book you treat it seriously. You don't act stupid just because you're making a comic book movie. That's why the last Batman failed, it was serious and they acted like it wasn't. I'm for a party of one glad they played it like it's suppose to be, serious. I'm waiting for Sean Connery to come out of retirement for LXG 2. I give it...8 STARS

ON THE POSTIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ CAST (We both think the cast did a great job.)
+ NOT JUST FOR FANS (You can enjoy this, even if you aren't a big fame of the LXG comic book.)
+ EFFECTS (Cool monster effects and make up.)
+ NICE BLEND (Characters that never met in the novels meeting for the first time is a cool concept.)
+ DIALOG (The dialog was cool.)
+ SERIOUS (I'm glad they played it serious instead of tonue in cheek.)

...AND FINALLY...

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- LUCY NOT MINA (It was Lucy who became a vampire, not Mina.)
